John has worked in Local Government for over 38 years, commencing at Southern Mitchell County Council in 1971, followed by Dungog Shire Council, Tumut River County Council, Gloucester Shire Council as Director of Corporate Services and Murrurundi Shire Council as General Manger. Commenced as General Manager of Coonamble Shire in July 2004.
